Accomplishments for Year  2004

Goals accomplished by Agricultural Learning Foundations 2004 of broadening the number and support for youth and youth programs were achieved by the fundraising efforts of its volunteers and board of trustees at a Chili Cook Off fund raiser held in June at the Fort Worth Stock Yards.

A.L.F.I. had a booth at the Cutting Horse Association Trade show that was held in the Will Rogers Coliseum in June 2004. This gained much needed exposure and interest in A.L.F.I.. Additional funds raised in raffle gained even more exposure support and revenue for the year 2004.

During both the Chili Cook off and Cutting Horse Show A.L.F.I. educated the public about A.L.F.I. mission and raffled off a donated John Deer lawn tractor. Volunteers also asked Chili Cook Off and Cutting Horse Show participants to sign up their Albertson’s scan card so A.L.F.I. would benefit from the scan card program. Volunteers also asked participants who shop at Kroger to take a brochure with A.L.F.I. scan card attached and use it when they shop to increase A.L.F.I. donations from Kroger.

Our phone is staffed 24 hours by volunteers and calls are directed to board of trustees.

The public can contact our phone 24 hours a day and it will notify a volunteer in seconds if it is after hours of operation. We moved the office to 2701 East Avenue E Suite 417 Arlington, Tx..  It is available to public Monday -Friday and half a day on Saturday and by appointment on Sunday after 12:00 Noon. Volunteers worked hard so the public will find our information available on our improved web site at our shorter and easier to remember new web address of www.alfitx.org.

A. L. F. I. was glad to gain a new animal sponsor for animals since we were approached by Stephenville Children’s Foster Home this year to help their students participate in their local school agricultural program. We were able to provide them with all the assistance they asked for. We were glad to learn one of the students who we assisted was adopted while participating in this year’s animal project. Special arrangements were made for his goat to go with him to his new home instead of placing the goat in the usual sale at the end of the stock show.
